Together, we can inspire teamwork

Playing team sports is more than just fun; it can be a high-leverage strategy to improve academic achievement, forge connections and confidence, and build in-demand skills that set students up for future personal and professional success.

Through the new elementary Athletics for Achievement program, students learn more than just the skills of their sport. Teams will work together to set and achieve academic goals. With dedicated after school time for academic support and youth leadership development, coaches and assistant coaches are helping students strive for excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Currently rolling out across all 10 elementary school sites, this year-round after school program is free to all students, and offers a full collection of team sports for boys and girls.

A lot of these kids were inexperienced and hadn’t had the opportunity to play organized sports, so it was a first for a lot of them. It’s been really great. It has made them more accountable with their school work and their behaviors in class, just having that extracurricular activity to look forward to.
