Let’s have an immediate impact on learning!
The San Luis Coastal Education Foundation (SLCEF) and TEACh Foundation are pleased to open the 2025-26 Teacher Impact Grants applications.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applications are due by midnight on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
PURPOSE
The San Luis Coastal Education Foundation and TEACh Foundation have joined forces to support teachers across San Luis Coastal Unified School District. Though this year’s joint grantmaking, the Foundations will support ideas that can have an immediate impact on learning. With competitive awards up to $1,000, Teacher Impact Grants are designed to support creative and impactful educational activities with immediate benefits for students.
ELIGIBLE PROPOSALS
Any classroom teacher currently employed within San Luis Coastal Unified School District is eligible to apply for funding to support instructional approaches or projects designed to begin during the 2025-26 school year and which meet the selection criteria. Grants may fund materials that support instructional approaches or projects, equipment, training, parent involvement programs, or any activity or material which supports higher levels of student academic achievement, innovation, social and emotional well-being, and other activities that align with District and Foundation priorities.
AWARDS OF FUNDS
Grants up to $1,000 will be awarded to classroom teachers. The number of awarded grants will depend on funds available from the Foundations. Successful proposals will be publicly announced.
FUNDING RESTRICTIONS
SLCEF will not fund proposals to:
Support costs associated with fundraisers or fundraising activities, site or classroom field trips, and basic school supplies.
Pay off past debts or existing obligations.
Support organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, disability, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion or religious affiliation.
Support organizations and programs designed to elect candidates to office.
The Foundation will not generally fund programs, activities or materials that are typically funded by the district. All grants require site level administrative approval, and the approval of any impacted departments.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Grant proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Overall quality: Is the project clearly defined and described? Is there a clear benefit to student’s educational experience and/or teacher capacity? Is the goal and benefit clearly defined?
Creativity: Are the activities engaging and interesting? Are there creative elements to the project?
Impact: Is the anticipated impact clear? Are the benefits clearly defined? How many students will be impacted?
SELECTION PROCESS
Upon submission, the Foundation will route proposals to the appropriate school principal and any other relevant department heads (IT, facilities, etc) to ensure the proposed activities are consistent with existing site and district policies, and can be effectively implemented.
Proposals that receive administrative approval will be submitted to a Grant Review & Selection sub-committee with representatives from both foundation boards.
